Tim Beckham was the starting shortstop for the 2010 Stone Crabs. In just his third season in professional baseball, he hit .256 with 23 doubles, 5 triples, 5 home runs, 57 RBI’s and swipped 22 bases in 123 games.
Beckham was the first round draft pick of the Rays in 2008 out of Griffin High School in Georgia. He split the 2008 season between Princeton and Hudson Valley, going a combined .246 with 13 doubles, 2 home runs and 14 RBI’s in 48 games. In 2009 he was promoted to Bowling Green where he went .278 with 33 doubles, 4 triples, 5 home runs, 63 RBI’s and 13 stolen bases in his first year of full-season ball.
