Shane Dyer joined the Stone Crabs starting rotation in May 2010 after being promoted from Bowling Green. He was 5-8 with a 3.17 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 24 games with the Stone Crabs. Dyer was named the FSL Pitcher of the Week after a dominating outing on May 14 against the Daytona Cubs in which he pitched 7 ⅓ shut-out innings for his second scoreless start in a row.
Dyer was drafted by the Rays in the sixth round of the 2008 draft out of South Mountain Community College. He made his debut with the Hudson Valley Renegades in 2008, spent all of 2009 and the start of 2010 with the Bowling Green Hot Rods before his promotion to the Stone Crabs in May 2010.
