Mitch Talbot appeared in one game with the Stone Crabs in 2009 while on a rehab assignment. He pitched 3 innings and allowed no runs on 1 hit with 6 strikeouts.
Talbot was drafted by the Houston Astros in the second round of the 2002 draft. He was acquired by the Rays in 2006 as part of the Aubrey Huff trade. Talbot spent much of his time in the Rays minor league system, playing in just three games with the Rays and the rest split between Durham and Montgomery with a rehab stint with the Stone Crabs and GCL Rays in 2009.
Talbot was then traded to the Cleveland Indians in December 2009 to complete the Rays trade for Kelly Shoppach. He made his return to the majors as a member of the Indians bullpen in 2010.
