Mayo Acosta was a catcher for the Stone Crabs for most of 2011 and a portion of 2012.

Acosta played in 60 games for the Stone Crabs in 2011, compiling a .203 average with 13 doubles and 3 home runs. He returned briefly in 2012, playing 22 games for the Stone Crabs and hitting .278 with 8 doubles and 3 homers. Acosta was then promoted and split time between Montgomery and Durham.

Acosta was signed by the Rays as a free agent in 2006. He spent the 2007-2008 season with the Princeton Rays. He was then promoted to the Hudson Valley Renegades in 2009 and remained with them until a promotion to Bowling Green in 2010. Mayo was then promoted to the Stone Crabs to start the 2011 season.
