Matt Joyce joined the Stone Crabs for a few games this season for a rehab assignment while recovering from an elbow injury. He was .379/.759/.525 with 5 doubles, 2 home runs and 8 RBI’s in 10 games with the Stone Crabs.

Joyce was drafted by the Detroit Tigers is the 12th round of the 2005 draft. After four seasons in the Tigers organization, he was traded to the Rays for Edwin Jackson after the 2008 season. He split the 2009 season between Durham and Tampa Bay. Then in 2010 he was split between the Stone Crabs, Durham and Tampa Bay.
