Matt Bush was signed by the Rays organization prior to the start of the 2010 season and was assigned to the Stone Crabs. Battling arm soreness, Bush only pitched 8 1/3 inning, holding a 4.32 ERA with 4 runs on 7 hits with 12 strikeouts and 2 walks for the Stone Crabs.
Bush was the first round draft pick for the San Diego Padres in 2004. He was later traded to the Blue Jays in February 2009 and then was released by them prior to the start of the season. He signed a minor league contract with the Rays on January 28, 2010 and split time between the Stone Crabs and GCL Rays while dealing with injury. Following the 2010 season, Bush was added to the Rays 40-man roster.
