Greg Sexton spent the entire 2009 season and most of the 2010 season as the Stone Crabs third baseman. After playing all of 2009 in Port Charlotte, Sexton was promoted to Montgomery to start the 2010 season, only to return to Charlotte in May 2010 and remain with the Stone Crabs through the end of the season. He was also named a Florida State League All-Star for the 2009 season.
Sexton returned to the Stone Crabs to start the 2011 season. He remained with the Stone Crabs until late June when he was called up to Montgomery. Prior to his promotion, Sexton was named an FSL All-Star for the second time and was leading the league in RBI’s.
Sexton was a combined .278 with 43 doubles, 5 triples, 8 home runs and 134 RBI’s in 232 games spanning his three seasons with the Stone Crabs.
Sexton was drafted by the Devil Rays in the tenth round of the 2007 draft from William and Mary. He debuted with Hudson Valley in 2007and then was promoted to Columbus for 2008.
Following the 2009 campaign with the Stone Crabs, Sexton was promoted to Montgomery. He was later sent back to Charlotte where he remained till the end of the season.
