Deivis Mavarez has spent two stints in the Stone Crabs bullpen during 2009 and 2010. He spent just one game with the Stone Crabs in 2009 and then was called up to the Stone Crabs in August if 2010 to finish the season. In his time with the Stone Crabs, he was 1-1 with a 1.35 ERA, 1 save and 10 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched.
Mavarez returned for a third season with the Stone Crabs in 2011.
Mavarez began his career with the Houston Astros organiztion. He was signed by the Rays as an minor league free agent in 2007 and spent his first two seasons with the Rays Caribbean affiliates. He was the VSL Rays pitcher of the year in 2008. In 2009, he made his American debut, splitting time between the Princeton Rays, Bowling Green Hot Rods and Stone Crabs. In 2010, he returned to Bowling Green where he spent most of the season before being called up to finish out the season with the Stone Crabs.
