Dane De La Rosa spent just two games with the Stone Crabs during the 2010 season before being called up to Montgomery. He pitched 3 innings for the Stone Crabs and had a 3.00 ERA with 5 strikeouts before his April 24 promotion.
De La Rosa was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2002 Draft. He spent two seasons in the Yankees organization before being released in 2004. Dane played four seasons of independent league baseball in three leagues before returning to professional baseball in 2010 when he signed a minor league contract with the Rays organization. He split his first season between the Stone Crabs and Montgomery Biscuits in 2010 and then was placed on the Ray’s 40-man roster at the end of the season.
