Veteran major leaguer Brian Shouse spent two stints with the Stone Crabs in 2009 and 2010. He had a 1.90 ERA with 9 strikeouts in 11 games. Shouse was a big role model in the Stone Crabs bullpen, helping develop the younger pitchers.
Shouse was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 13th round of the 1990 draft. He spent twenty years in professional baseball, ten of them at the major league level. He spent time in the Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay organizations before retiring at the end of the 2010 season.
