Bill Moloney was the pitching coach for the Stone Crabs during the inaugural season. Under Moloney’s guidance, the Stone Crabs pitching staff was second in the league in strikeouts with 1004 and had a team ERA of 3.65.

Moloney has been a pitching coach in the Rays organization since 2008. He has been with the Columbus Catfish in 2008, Stone Crabs in 2009 and the Montgomery Biscuits in 2010. Prior to joining the Rays organization, he was a pitching coach in the Reds organization since 2001.

Moloney enjoyed a six year minor league career, mostly with the Red Sox organization. He worked from the bullpen and posted a career 28-16 record with a 3.20 ERA and 265 strikeouts in 216 games ranging from A- to AAA.
