Alex Cobb was the Stone Crabs opening day starting pitcher for the inaugural season and spent the entire 2009 season with the Stone Crabs.  Cobb was 8-5 with a 3.03 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 23 starts in 2009.  He rejoined the Stone Crabs in 2013 and again in 2014 for brief rehab assignments.
Cobb was drafted by the Rays in the fourth round of the 2006 Draft out of Vero Beach High School.
