The Stone Crabs ended the regular season on a winning note, defeating the Fort Myers Miracle 5-1 on Sunday at CenturyLink Sports Complex. The win snaps the losing streak and sends the Stone Crabs to the playoffs on a win.
Fort Myers jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. Ryan Walker doubled to left to put a runner in scoring position. He later scored on an RBI single by Logan Wade to give the Miracle a 1-0 lead.
The Stone Crabs put the tying run on bases a couple times but couldn’t push a run across until the fifth inning. That’s when they took the lead after scoring a pair of runs. Justin Williams drew a walk to lead off the inning. He moved into scoring position following a single by Pat Blair. Both runners scored on a double by Mike Marjama to give the Stone Crabs a 2-1 lead.
The Stone Crabs added an insurance run in the sixth. Hector Guevara reached on a walk to lead off the inning. Guevara later scored on an RBI single by Williams to extend the Stone Crabs lead to 3-1.
The Stone Crabs pushed across a pair of runs in the eighth to increase their lead. Marjama got things started after reaching on a two base error. The Maxx Tissenbaum connected on a 96 mph fastball, scoring Marjama with an RBI double. Tissenbaum later scored on an RBI single by Granden Goetzman to increase the Stone Crabs lead to 5-1.
The Stone Crabs pitching staff kept the Miracle off the scoreboard the remainder of the game to preserve the win.

The Stone Crabs are off on Monday before embarking on the FSL Playoffs. They will face Palm Beach in the South Division Championship Series with game one of the best of three series on Tuesday night in Palm Beach.
