Two former Stone Crabs were honored with player of the week honors this week as Todd Glaesmann was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week and Tyler Bortnick was named the Southern League Player of the Week.
Glaesmann led the PCL in offense, hitting a league high nine doubles on the week for the Reno Aces, including a tying a franchise high single game double record in Wednesday night. He reached base safely in all seven games this week finishing the week with 17 hits, 9 doubles, 3 home runs, 8 RBI’s and 9 runs scored on the week.
Bortnick’s bat came alive last week for the Jackson Generals, going 13 for 25 with 3 doubles, 2 home runs, 9 RBI’s and 10 runs scored on the week. He had a five hit game on Thursday against his former team, the Montgomery Biscuits and had two home runs in Sunday’s games against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
