The Stone Crabs offense was kept quiet by the Palm Beach Cardinals pitching staff as they were held scoreless following a 2-0 defeat on Tuesday night at Charlotte Sports Park.

Palm Beach jumped out to an early lead right out of the gates. CJ McElroy singled to short to lead off the inning. He later scored on a double by Mason Katz to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals added to their lead in the third inning. Katz reached on a wild pitch on strike three to give the Cardinals a baserunner. Katz stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. A sac fly by Luke Voit would score Katz and increase the Cardinal lead to 2-0.

The Stone Crabs failed to get anything going offensively in the late innings and were no-hit by the Cardinals bullpen as they suffered the 2-0 defeat.

Hunter Wood was charged with the loss for the Stone Crabs. Luke Weaver was the winning pitcher and Robby Rowland notched the save for Palm Beach.

The series concludes on Wednesday night at Charlotte Sports Park. The Stone Crabs send Buddy Borden (8-5, 2.68) to the mound looking to avoid another series sweep against Blake McKnight (1-0, 2.00) for Palm Beach.
