The Rays rallied late to tie the game but it wasn’t enough as they lost to the GCL Twins 5-2 in game one of Wednesday doubleheader.

The Twins took the lead in the second inning by pushing across a pair of runs.  A double by Christian Cavaness would drive home both baserunners to give the Twins a 2-0 lead.

The Rays tied the game in the top of the fifth.  Blake Grant-Parks led off the inning with a single to right.  He later scored on an error following a squeeze play by Juan Carlos Arias.  Arias later scored on an RBI single by Oscar Rojas to tie the game.

But the Twins scored three in the bottom of the fifth to regain the lead.  RBI singles by Robert Molina, Roni Tapia and Ruar Verkerk help give the Twins a 5-2 lead.

The Rays were retired in order the next two frames as they fell 5-2 in the seven inning contest.

Francisco Mena was the losing pitcher for the Rays.  Hector Lujan was the winning pitcher for the Twins.
