Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the 2015 XM All-Star Futures Game and two former Stone Crabs will be making the trip to Cincinnati. Lefty Blake Snell and third baseman Richie Shaffer have been selected to represent the US Team in the game to take place as part of All-Star Weekend.
Snell started the season with the Stone Crabs before lighting up the FSL hitters and getting a promotion to Double-A. This season, Snell is a combined 7-2 with a 1.22 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 13 games.
Shaffer is currently with the Durham Bulls but has split time this season at Montgomery and Durham. He is hitting a combined .278 with 16 doubles and 16 home runs in 62 games this season. Shaffer was an FSL All-Star with the Stone Crabs in 2013.
The 2015 XM All-Star Futures Game will be played at Great American Ballpark on Sunday July 13 at 3pm.
