The Stone Crabs returned from the All-Star Break with a rain shortened win over the Bradenton Marauders on Monday night at Charlotte Sports Park.

The Stone Crabs and Marauders dueled through three scoreless innings before the Stone Crabs struck for a pair of runs. Rehabbing Rays Tim Beckham singled to center and advanced to second on an error to put a runner in scoring position. Beckham would be driven home on a triple by Willy Adames, his fourth of the year. Adames wouldn’t stay on base long as Jake Bauers drove him home to make it 2-0.

The Marauders challenged in the top of the fifth, putting the tying run on the bases. But then Mother Nature struck, putting the game in a rain delay.

After a half an hour delay, the call was made to call the game, giving the Stone Crabs the win.
Kyle McKenzie picked up the win and Tyler Eppler was charged with the loss.

Both teams are back at it again in Tuesday at Charlotte Sports Park. Buddy Borden (7-3, 2.25) will get the ball for the Stone Crabs against Jayson Aquino (3-7, 3.41) for Bradenton.
