A big sixth inning help lift the Stone Crabs to a 5-2 win over the St Lucie Mets on Saturday night at Charlotte Sports Park. The win gave the Stone Crabs a series sweep over St Lucie and increased their current winning streak to four games.

Starters Jacob Faria and Kevin McGowan dueled through five scoreless innings before the Stone Crabs broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Stone Crabs tagged McGowan for five runs, one run for each inning they were held scoreless. The Stone Crabs send all nine hitters to the plate in the inning. When the dust settled, the Stone Crabs were out in front 5-0.

The Mets broke the scoreless tie in the top of the eighth inning by scoring a pair of runs. But the Stone Crabs held on to win 5-2.

Faria picked up the win, improving to 5-1 on the year.

The Stone Crabs are off on Sunday before heading to Clearwater to start a four game series against the Threshers on Monday.
