Bauers Homer Lifts Stone Crabs

The Stone Crabs edged the Fort Myers Miracle 2-1 on Friday night at Charlotte Sports Park to remain unbeaten at home against the Miracle.

Both clubs exchanged scoreless innings until the bottom of the fifth inning. That’s when Jake Bauers went deep for his fourth homer of the year, a two run shot to make it 2-0.
Fort Myers cut the lead in half in the top of the seventh. Alex Swim doubled to left and later scored to make it 2-1.

The Stone Crabs kept the tying run from crossing the plate to hold on for a 2-1 win.

Buddy Borden picked up the win and improved to 3-1 on the year. Brad Schreiber recorded his fifth save of the season. Ethan Mildren was charged with the loss for Fort Myers.

The series continues on Saturday night at Charlotte Sports Park. Ryne Stanek (0-2, 2.29) gets the start against Ryan Eades (1-0, 1.50) for Fort Myers.
