Hitter of the Week
Marty Gantt was getting it done at the plate, hitting for the cycle during the course of the week. Gantt was 7 for 18 with a double, triple, home runs, 3 RBI’s and a run scored in five games this week. His biggest night came on Tuesday against Bradenton when he was 2 for 3 and crushed his first home run of the season. Gantt is hitting .333 on the season.
Pitcher of the Week
Blake Snell continues to dominate the Florida State League. The left tossed another shut-out on Saturday against Palm Beach where he went six scoreless innings enroute to his third win of the season. Snell has not surrendered a run in four outings this season. His performance on the year has resulting in a promotion to Double-A on Monday. He left the Stone Crabs with a 3-0 record, 0.00 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched.
