Sale Suspended for Violation of MiLB Drug Program

Josh SaleStone Crabs outfielder Josh Sale has been suspended for 50 games for violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension will begin immediately.

This is Sale’s third suspension of his career. He was suspended in 2012 for 50 games for violation of the drug program. He was reinstated in 2013 and was suspended by Rays organization for detrimental conduct following comments made on social media.

Sale was drafted by the Rays in the first round of the 2010 draft. He was hitting .238 with 14 doubles, 4 triples and 4 home runs in 90 games for the Stone Crabs this season.
