The Rays front office had a big day with transactions, five of which directly impacted the Stone Crabs.
Johnny Field was added to the Stone Crabs from Bowling Green. Field was hitting .290 with 23 doubles, 5 triples and 7 home runs for the Hot Rods. Field is in his second season with the Rays organization after being drafted by the Rays in the fifth round of the 2013 draft out of the University of Arizona.
Jeremy Hellickson rejoins the Stone Crabs for his second rehab appearance of the season. Hellickson is scheduled to pitch on Sunday in Clearwater to set him up for a return to the Rays when they return to St Pete from their current road trip.
Parker Markel has been promoted to Double-A Montgomery. Markel was 2-3 with a 5.18 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 29 games for the Stone Crabs this season.
Colton Reavis has been added to the Stone Crabs from Bowling Green. Reavis was 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA, 7 saves and 55 strikeouts in 27 appearances out of the Hot Rods bullpen. He was drafted by the Rays in the 30th round of the 2013 draft out of Northwood University.
Julian Ridings was transferred to Bowling Green. Ridings hit .278 with 5 double, 4 triples and 2 home runs in 29 games with the Stone Crabs this season.
