Stone Crabs Go Head to Head in All-Star Futures Game

futures-game-logoThe best in the minors took the field on All-Star Sunday for the All-Star Futures Game. Two Stone Crabs made the trip to Target Field, current Stone Crabs catcher Justin O’Conner and former Stone Crabs pitcher Enny Romero. Both Stone Crabs would eventually go head to head in the seventh inning.

O’Conner checked into the game in the top of the sixth inning, taking over at catcher and hitting ninth for the US Team. He would play catcher the remainder of the game. His only at-bat came in the seventh inning when he singled to left off Romero.

Romero took over the mound for the World Team in the seventh inning. He surrendered just one hit to O’Conner and forced three infield ground outs to get through the inning.

The US Futures Team beat the World Team 3-2.
