Stone Crabs Extra Innings Loss Leads to Sweep

The Stone Crabs lost to the Fort Myers 7-6 in extra innings to suffer their second straight series sweep. The loss puts an end to the 0-6 homestand and extends the losing streak to eight games.

The Stone Crabs took an early lead on a two run home run by Pat Leonard to make it 2-0.

The Miracle scored three runs in the top of the second to take a 3-2 lead.

The Stone Crabs tied the game in the bottom of the second. Marty Gantt scored on an RBI double by Ariel Soriano to tie the game 3-3.

Fort Myers regained the lead in the top of the third by scoring two runs to take a 5-3 lead.

The Stone Crabs cut the lead in half in the bottom of the third. Leonard drove home Tommy Coyle to pull within a run of the lead.

The Stone Crabs tied the game in the fifth on an RBI double by Maxx Tissenbau, scoring Coyle to tie the game.
Fort Myers capitalized on a Stone Crabs error in the ninth to take the lead once again.

But the Stone Crabs answered in the home half of the ninth. Soriano doubled home Tissenbaum to tie the game and force extra innings.

The Miracle wasted no time in extra innings, scoring in the top of the tenth to take a 7-6 lead.

The Stone Crabs got nothing in the bottom of the tenth as they lost 7-6.

Jose Molina was the losing pitcher for Charlotte.
