The Stone Crabs surrendered four runs enroute to a 5-1 loss to the Bradenton Marauders on Monday night at Charlotte Sports Park.
The Stone Crabs broke the scoreless tie by scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning. Pat Leonard hit a line drive single to left to lead off the inning. He would later score on an RBI double by Justin O’Conner.
The lead wouldn’t last long as the Marauders scored in the next frame to tie the game. Jin-De Jhang scored on an RBI single by Jeff Roy to tie the game 1-1.
Both teams would remain nodded at one until the top of the ninth when the Marauders tagged the Stone Crabs bullpen for four runs. The entire scoring rally took place with two outs in the inning but when the dust settled, the Stone Crabs found themselves looking at a 5-1 defeat.
Parker Markel was charged with the loss for the Stone Crabs. Jeff Inman was the winning pitcher for Bradenton.
The Stone Crabs will head to Fort Myers for a three game series against the Fort Myers Miracle. This will be the final series before the All-Star Break.
