Moore Departs Early After Line Drive at the Mound

Matt MooreFormer Stone Crabs Matt Moore got a scare on Sunday when a line drive struck him in the mouth during a spring training game against the Red Sox. Moore was struck by a comebacker off the bat of Boston’s Xander Bogaerts in the fourth inning of the game. He continued to track the ball and make the final out of the inning before departing the game. Moore was treated by team medical staff and received five stitches and did not require a trip to the hospital.
