Former Stone Crabs slugger Henry Wrigley has signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Wrigley missed much of the 2013 season due to being injured while playing for the Tulsa Drillers, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
Wrigley was the big bat in the lineup for the 2010 season. He was a FSL All-Star where he won the Home Run Derby. Wrigley spent a total of 138 games with the Stone Crabs split between the 2009 and 2010 season. He hit .269 with 28 doubles, 5 triples, 18 homers and 89 RBI’s in his stint with the Stone Crabs.
Wrigley was signed by the Rays in the 14th round of the 2005 Draft out of San Mateo College. He spent much of his career in the Rays organization, reaching Triple-A Durham. He left the Rays at the end of the 2012 season and joined the Colorado Rockies for 2013. In the offseason, Wrigley has been playing for Leones del Caracas in Venezuela.
