11/6 Arizona Fall League roundup: replay costs Salt River a run

Salt River fell to the Scottsdale Scorpions 7-4 on Wednesday evening, but if not for an overturned call the Rafters may have plated five instead of four. Major League Baseball has been testing replay in the Arizona Fall League, and on Wednesday the first overturned call via the system worked against the Rafters as Cardinals prospect James Ramsey was eventually ruled out on a force play in the first inning. Still, the Rafters could not compile enough offensive momentum against the Scorpions – thus, the overturned call did not overly affect the final result.

Scottsdale and Salt River meet once again at the Salt River Fields for a 7:08 MST (9:08 EST) game.

  • Ryan Brett (2013): 1 for 1
  • Mike Montgomery (2013): a hit, three walks, and strikeout in 2 innings
  • Merrill Kelly (2011): a walk and a strikeout in 2 innings
