10/26 Arizona Fall League roundup: Shaffer contributes in blowout

The Salt River offense erupted on Saturday afternoon against the Peoria Javelinas, in part thanks to a 3-for-4, two RBI performance by 2013 Stone Crab Richie Shaffer. The infielder, reaching twice more via walks, scored five times in the game’s eventual 20-0 Rafters victory. With the strong production, Shaffer lifted his batting average to .259, its highest so far in the Arizona Fall League.

Following Sunday’s league-wide off day, Salt River travels to Mesa for a game against the Solar Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 12:35 MST (3:35 EST).

One additional former Stone Crab made an appearance in the game.

  • Mike Montgomery (2013): a hit and a strikeout in 1 inning
