10/18 Arizona Fall League roundup: Casali replaced on Salt River roster

Salt River snapped a three-game losing streak on Friday evening, pushing five runs across the plate and edging over the Peoria Javelines 5-3.

No Stone Crabs made an appearance in this game. The Rafters meet the Mesa Solar Sox, who maintain the Arizona Fall League’s best record (7-1), for a 6:35 MST (9:35 EST) showdown.

Prior to the game, the Arizona Fall League Twitter page announced that former Stone Crabs catcher Curt Casali (2013) was replaced on the roster by catcher Luke Maile, who was on the Low-A Bowling Green Hot Rods last season. Casali was part of the AFL taxi squad, and only played one game with the Rafters, where he went 1-for-4.

I haven’t heard, but I’m guessing his shoulder – was on the DL for awhile last year with a shoulder injury, so it might be recurring.
