Bierman traded to White Sox

2013 Stone Crab LHP Sean Bierman was traded to the Chicago White Sox today. The first indication of the trade was seen in a tweet by Taylor Guerrieri, a teammate of Bierman’s when both played for the Low-A Bowling Green Hot Rods:

“@TaylorG1201: Extremely happy for my boy @Beerman973 on being traded! Bitter sweet to see one of my best friends go. Still love you like a bro, bro”

Marc Topkin later reported on Twitter that Bierman was one of the players sent to complete the Jesse Crain deal, which was made in July by the Rays.

Bierman pitched in five games for the Stone Crabs in 2013, putting up a 1-1 record and a 2.11 ERA before being sidelined by an elbow injury in August.

The southpaw was a product of the 2012 draft, being selected in the 10th round by the Tampa Bay Rays out of the University of Tampa.
