10/9 Arizona Fall League roundup: Garvin dominates for Salt River

Grayson Garvin (class of 2013) stole Wednesday’s Salt River-Scottsdale spotlight with a stellar five inning performance for the Rafters. Garvin was handed the ball for the start and breezed through the Scorpion lineup, permitting a hit and a walk while fanning out five. Salt River strolled easily to a 12-2 victory.

Salt River will play a home game on Thursday against the Mesa Solar Sox at 6:35 MST.

Other highlights:

  • Richie Shaffer (2013): earned the first hit for any Rays organizational participant – finished 2-for-4 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored
  • Curt Casali (2013): 1-for-4 with 2 walks and a run scored
