Former Stone Crab southpaw Frank De Los Santos was traded on Saturday afternoon to the Chicago White Sox for cash or a player to be named, according to the Tampa Bay Times. De Los Santos, who played out the 2013 season with the Triple-A Durham Bulls, spent 2010 and part of 2011 with the Charlotte squad. In 2010, De Los Santos went 10-9 with a 4.33 ERA in 25 games (24 starts). He pitched one game in 2011 before being promoted to Double-A Montgomery. This past season, he appeared in two games with the Stone Crabs while serving a rehab stint.
The roster move was made to open up a spot in the Tampa Bay Rays’ 40-man.
