Former Stone Crab Mateo Throws No-Hitter

MateoFormer Stone Crabs pitcher Victor Mateo threw a complete game no-hitter tonight for the Montgomery Biscuits. Mateo needed just 100 pitched to get through the night, racking up five strikeouts along the way. His lone base runner of the night came on a walk to J. T. Realmuto in the first inning but he quickly forced a double play to get out of the inning.

Saturday night’s no-hitter was the second of Mateo’s career as he also pitched a no-hitter in 2011 with the Bowling Green Hot Rods. It was the first no-hitter to be thrown in the Biscuit’s Riverwalk Stadium.
