Three Former Stone Crabs Ranked “Best Tools” by Baseball America

Tim BeckhamBaseball America released their Best Tools of 2013 rankings and three former Stone Crabs made the list. While no current Stone Crabs made the list, two former Stone Crabs were ranked on the Double-A list and one on the Triple-A list.

Tim Beckham was ranked the Best Infield Arm in the International League. He has committed just 21 errors in 418 changes while completing 60 double plays spanning 98 games this season for the Durham Bulls. He has also been named the best infield arm in the Rays organization for the past five seasons straight.

Marquis Fleming was named the Best Changeup in the Southern League. Fleming has used that changeup to help compile 71 strikeouts in 36 games for the Montgomery Biscuits this season.

CJ Riefenhauser was named the Best Reliever in the Southern League. Riefenhauser was 4-0 with a 0.51 ERA in 34 appearances from the Biscuits bullpen.
