Former Stone Crab Wrigley Signed by Rockies

Henry WrigleyThe Denver Post has reported that former Stone Crabs slugger Henry Wrigley has been signed by the Colorado Rockies organization. He was signed earlier this month to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.

Wrigley spent a season with the Stone Crabs, split between the second half of 2009 and the first half of 2010. He hit .269 with 28 doubles, 5 triples, 18 home runs and 89 RBI’s in 138 games with the Stone Crabs. He was a 2010 FSL All-Star with the Stone Crabs, winning the Home Run Derby prior to the game.

Wrigley was signed by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 14th round of the 2005 draft out the College of San Mateo. He spent seven seasons in the Rays organization, earning one all-star nomination and two player of the week awards. He became a free agent at the conclusion of the 2012 season after leading the Rays organization in offensive power for the past few seasons.
