Former Stone Crabs pitcher Matt Bush has accepted a plea deal stemming from a DUI traffic crash in Charlotte County last spring. As part of the deal, Bush plead no contest to driving under the influence and received a four year jail sentence and ten year license suspension.
Bush was involved in a hit and run crash in March when he struck a motorcyclist and then left the scene of the accident. He was later arrested following a search by law enforcement.
In addition to the criminal charges, Bush still faces a civil suit as a result of the incident.
Bush spent six games with the Stone Crabs in an injury plagued season in 2010. He was released from the Rays organization following the incident.
