Former Stone Crabs Dyer Signed by Tigers

Shane DyerFormer Stone Crabs pitcher Shane Dyer was signed by the Detroit Tigers. Dyer signed a minor league contract with the Tigers back on November 20.

Dyer spent 16 games with the Stone Crabs during the 2010 season. He was 5-8 with a 3.17 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 93 2/3 inning pitched. He earned the FSL Pitcher of the Week in June with the Stone Crabs.

Dyer was drafted by the Rays in the sixth round of the 2008 draft out of South Mountain Community College. He has spent his entire professional career in the Rays system, reaching Triple-A Durham in 2012. He was one of several player who became minor league free agents following the season.
