Stone Crabs Held Scoreless Against Fort Myers

George Jensen provided three scoreless innings of relief

The Stone Crabs found themselves in a hole early as they were shut-out by the Fort Myers Miracle 5-0 on Friday night at Hammond Stadium. The Stone Crabs were held hitless through four and scoreless through nine as they suffered the defeat.

The Miracle jumped all over Stone Crabs starter CJ Riefenhauser in the first inning, tagging him for five runs in the opening frame. The Miracle hit around in the inning, finishing with five hits and two walks in the inning to take a 5-0 lead.

The Stone Crabs were held hitless by the Miracles starter Matt Hauser through the first four innings of the game. They broke the no-hitter in the top of the fifth with back to back singles but were unable to turn those hits into runs.

The Stone Crabs would collect just one more hit, a double by Stephen Tinoco in the eighth. But the lack of offensive production would lead to the Stone Crabs being held scoreless in the game.

Riefenhauser was charged with the loss, falling to 7-3 on the season.

The series concludes on Saturday at Charlotte Sports Park. Braulio Lara (4-6, 6.87) will start for the Stone Crabs opposite Tom Stuifbergen (0-3, 12.27) for Fort Myers.
