Stone Crabs Host a Military Appreciation Night on August 19

Press Release provided by Stone Crabs Marketing Manager Regina Van Henkelum.

The Charlotte Stone Crabs are proud to announce that they will be hosting “Military Appreciation Night” at Charlotte Sports Park on Friday, August 19. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch for the Stone Crabs versus the Fort Myers Miracle is at 6:30 p.m.

As a way of showing the Stone Crabs appreciation for the sacrifices of our armed forces all active military and veterans will receive free admission to the Stone Crabs’ game when they present their Military I.D. at the box office.

Prior to the start of the game the U.S. Army will hold a “future solider” swear in ceremony for new recruits. In addition to the live swear in there will also be sky-divers dropping in with the first pitch ball.

Throughout the game, the Stone Crabs will also be auctioning off select players’ camouflage game worn jerseys. Along with the jersey auction the Stone Crab players have raised money by wearing their knee high pants at full length and are donating it to the Wounded Warrior foundation.

“This is a great opportunity for the team to give back to the people that have previously and are currently serving our country.” says Stone Crabs General Manager, Joe Hart.

Tickets range from just $6-11 for home games and are available three ways: visiting the Charlotte Sports Park box office, calling 941-206-HITS (4487), or visiting StoneCrabsBaseball.com.
