MLB Spring Training: Rays at Pirates

The Rays fell to the Pirates 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at McKechnie Field. The Rays battled back to tie the game in the top of the ninth but surrendered a run in the bottom half of the inning to lose the game.

Four Stone Crab alumni help out the big club during today’s game. Leslie Anderson, Tyler Bortnick, Jeremy Hall and Jake McGee saw playing time for the Rays.

Anderson was 0 for 1.

Bortnick took over shortstop from Reid Brignac and was 0 for 1.

Hall suffered the loss after allowing a walk in the ninth inning that would later score the winning run on an error. He allowed no hits, one unearned run and a walk in 2/3 inning.

McGee pitched a shut-out inning with one hit and a strikeout.

The Rays (14-14-1) travel to Steinbrenner Field to play the Yankees (12-15) on Monday night.
