MLB Spring Training: Rays vs Phillies

The Rays won their third game in a row and are now .500 on the spring by defeating the Phillies 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Charlotte Sports Park. The Rays rode the right arm of James Shields as he pitched 7 scoreless innings to help the Rays win.

Anthony Scelfo was the only Stone Crab alumni to play in Wednesday afternoon’s game. He was 1 for 1 with an RBI in his MLB Spring Training debut.

The Rays (12-12-1) travel to Kissimmee (11-18) to play the Astros on Thursday. 2009 Stone Crab Jake McGee will see action on the mound for the Rays.
