MLB Spring Training: Rays at Pirates

The Rays snapped their losing streak by defeating the Pirates on the road 4-2. The Rays jumped out to an early lead but relinquished the lead mid game. A rally in the eighth inning led the Rays to victory.

Three Stone Crabs contributed heavily in the win. Tim Beckham, Matt Bush and Alex Cobb saw playing time and help lead the Rays to victory.

Beckham was the starting shortstop for the Rays and went 1 for 3 with an RBI. He drove home the tying run in the fifth inning with a single to score BJ Upton.

Bush earned a save by pitching a no-hit ninth inning with 2 strikeouts and a walk.

Cobb also pitched a no-hit inning in the eighth inning, striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.

Upton (2009 SC rehab) was 1 for 2 with a double, RBI and a stolen base.

The Rays head home to face the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
