MLB Spring Training: Rays at Twins

The Rays (1-5-1) dropped Friday afternoon’s game 5-4 against the Twins (4-2) in Fort Myers. A late inning rally from the home team left the Rays on the losing side of a one run game.

Former Stone Crabs Matt Bush, Alex Cobb, Dane De La Rosa and Stephen Vogt saw playing time in today’s game.

Bush pitched a no-hit sixth inning while allowing just one walk.

Cobb came into the game in the eighth inning and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits with 2 strikeouts and a walk while being charged with a blown save and the loss.

De La Rosa pitched the fifth inning and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits with a strikeout.

Vogt made his spring training debut in right field and drew a walk in his only plate appearance.

BJ Upton (2009 SC rehab) was 1 for 3 with a run scored.

Both clubs also played a second game on one of the backfields at the complex. Leslie Anderson, Nevin Ashley and Leslie Anderson all started for the Rays. Unfortunately, game stats are not available from that game.

The Rays (1-5-1) will host a rematch against the Twins (4-2) on Saturday.
