Former Stone Crabs catcher David Wendt is the latest victim of the Minor League Drug Program. Wendt has been suspended for 50 games for violating the MiLB Drug Prevention and Treatment Program after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine. He is the seventh minor league in the Rays system to suffer suspensions after violating the program.
Wendt spent a portion of two seasons with the Stone Crabs. He played 29 games in Port Charlotte split between the 2011 and 2012 season. He was drafted by the Rays in the 50th round of the 2009 draft out of Downing College.

I think Wendt is the 9th player to draw a 50 game suspension since the start of last year: T. Beckham, C. Rogers, R. Brett, J. Sale, C. Cononie, J. Woodall, D. Dixon, B. Blaise and Wendt.
